In 1997 Yakima Chief received ISO 9000 accreditation. We recognized a need to further reinforce our commitment to both customer service and optimal product quality, while containing our costs as much as was consistent with producing a quality product. There were process efficiencies and cost savings to be gained by implementing a quality management standard such as ISO 9001. The purpose was not to reinvent the wheel, but simply to apply the company's existing quality management practices to a foundation of standards recognized, accepted and preferred around the world.

Our compliance with international standards of ISO 9001 certification covers all areas of our hop production processes, throughout our pelleting plant and our CO2 hop extraction facility. By implementing this quality management standard in all areas of our business, we can guarantee optimal product quality. ISO 9001 certification ensures that well documented, objective evidence is in place for both internal and customer audits.

National Quality Assurance Magazine cited Yakima Chief as "an excellent example" of quality management through ISO 9001 certification.
