PERLE

Origin/History
Perle is an aroma-type cultivar, bred in 1978 in Germany from Northern Brewer. It is grown in Germany, Belgium and the U.S.A.

Agronomics
Moderate tolerance to downy mildew, Pseudoperonospora, with good pickability of a small, compact cone.

Maturity: Early
Yield: 1300 - 1700 kgs. per ha.
1150 - 1550 lbs. per acre

Brewing Quality
Used for both it's aromatic and bittering qualities.

Alpha acids: 7.0-9.5%
Beta acids: 4.0-5.0%
Alpha:Beta Ratio: 1.8
Cohumulone (% of alpha acids): 27 - 32%
   
Total Oil (Mls. per 100 grams): 0.7 - 0.9
Caryophyllene (as % of total oils): 10-12%
Farnesene (as % of total oils): 0%
Humulene (as % of total oils): 28-33%
Myrcene (as % of total oils): 45-55%

Storability is good.
