Released in 1972 from the New Zealand DSIR (now New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research). Green Bullet is a triploid alpha variety bred by open pollination of the New Zealand Smoothcone variety. It is traditionally considered a bittering variety for lagers, but also carries a spicy characteristic typical of Slovenian hop varieties.
