A high alpha hop that carries an even bigger weight of oils with lots of pine, grapefruit, herbal, orange and dried fruit characters. Developed by the New Zealand Institute for Bioeconomy Science Limited hop breeding program and released in 2012, Waimea’s lineage can be traced back to North American, English and European ancestry. Waimea™ is a versatile hop recommended for hoppy beers (ales, IPAs, pilsners), and its noteworthy citrus and tropical characters can be used across an array of styles in a variety of brew house and dry-hopping applications.
